Q: Where do I make my decision?

A: Please make your decision by following these steps:

  2. Select your preferred option
  3. Click “Continue”
  4. Login to your account
  5. Click “Save Decision”

Please note: You may need to take further action based on the decision you make as outlined on the decision page.

Charity Registrants: If your entry was acquired as part of an agreement with a charity partner, your registration will be subject to the cancellation resolution option as determined by the charity. Please reach out to the charity directly before taking any steps.

Q: What further action is needed?

A:  If you choose Option 1: Complimentary deferral to 2021 + virtual event, you will be emailed exclusive instructions to register for the following events on: 

  • 2020 Complimentary Virtual Event – Week of June 8, 2020
  • 2021 Verizon New York City Triathlon – Fall 2020

If you choose Option 2: Complimentary deferral to 2022 + virtual event, you will be emailed exclusive instructions to register for the following events on: 

  • 2020 Complimentary Virtual Event – Week of June 8, 2020
  • 2022 Verizon New York City Triathlon – After the 2021 Event

If you choose Option 3: Donate your entry fee + Guaranteed Entry, you will be emailed exclusive instructions to register for the event on: 

  • 2020 Complimentary Virtual Event – Week of June 8, 2020
  • 2021 Verizon New York City Triathlon – Fall 2020

If you choose Option 4: No further action is required

Q: Will I incur any processing fees or additional costs for these options? 

A: For Option 1, you will not incur any processing fees or additional costs for your 2021 registration. 

For Option 2, you will not incur any processing fees or additional costs for your 2022 registration. 

For Option 3, you will receive guaranteed entry but will need to pay for your 2021 registration. 

For Option 4, you will need to enter the lottery for a chance to race in 2021. 

Q: When do I have to make my decision?

A: All decisions must be made before July 11, 2020. 

Q: If I choose to defer to the 2021 or 2022 Verizon New York CIty Triathlon, do I get to choose my division?

A: Yes, you may choose any open division for the future events.

Q: Can I change my decision? 

A: No, once you make your selection, your decision is final.

Q: I was signed up for the 2020 Championship, if I defer, do I receive automatic entry to the 2021 Championship? 

A: Yes, your 2020 Championship status will roll over to the 2021 Championship. 

Q: I was signed up for the VIP Champions Club entry, if I defer, do I receive automatic entry to the 2021 VIP Champions Club?

A: Yes, absolutely! 

Q: How long will it take to get my refund?

A: On average, it takes 5-10 business days but some banks may take longer. Please allow 5-25 business days for the credit to be posted to your account. 

Q: My credit card has expired, where will I receive my refund?

A: The refund can only be posted to the same credit card you used to register. We recommend reaching out to your bank to locate those funds after the refund has been processed.

Q: I used a sponsor or charity code to register, what are my options?

A: We encourage you to reach out to your sponsor or charity team directly to discuss your options.

Q: Which credit card did I use to register?

A: You may find that information on your email confirmation receipt that you received when you first registered for the event. 

Q: If I choose Option 4 can I still register for the Virtual Event? 

A: Yes, you will be able to register for the Virtual Event for $55.

Q: What are the perks for the Virtual Event?

A: Virtual bib, finisher medal, swag, motivation, and more! 

Q: Please tell me more about the Life Time Foundation for Option 3. 

A: When COVID-19 hit New York City, the largest school district in the country stepped up to make sure none of their 1.1 million students went hungry. Please consider donating your race entry fee so they can continue to serve 550,000 meals a day. Your gift will help offset the extraordinary expenses that the district is incurring due to this health crisis, and that are not covered by the city, state or federal governments. Funds may also be used to accelerate scratch cooking and preparation of clean, wholesome and simply prepared foods in all schools, while also achieving the elimination of the Harmful 7 categories of ingredients in all of District’s schools.  

100% of your registration fee will be turned into a tax-deductible donation to the Life Time Foundation who will administer all proceeds – 100% benefiting New York City Department of Education. You will receive an email from foundation@ltfoundation.org by July 19th providing an official gift receipt.
