Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced athlete, we have a variety of training resources to meet your needs. As participation levels in the sport of triathlon continue to grow, so does the need to properly educate, motivate and physically prepare these new audiences. This sport may be a bit more complex than others, but it does not have to be intimidating.

For these reasons, Life Time is proud to provide a wide variety of resources dedicated to helping you meet all of your triathlon goals — whether it be finishing your first race or setting a long-standing personal best. We love triathlon and are committed to sharing this passion with the hope that you will love it, too.


Plan to join Tailwind Endurance NYC and the Verizon New York City Triathlon staff for a complimentary, two-part Race IQ Series focused on the ins, outs and secrets to success of this race.

The hour-long sessions wil be held on Wednesday, June 19 and Wednesday, July 10. During each session, we will discuss the race course, the key workouts you need to succeed, swimming and safety in the Hudson and of course race-related logistics. Each Race IQ is carefully currated to give you the tools you need to conquor the 2019 Verizon New York City Triathlon.

All Race IQ programs will be held from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Tailwind Endurance NYC (143 West 72nd St) and will feature a panel of athletes that have raced the course and can give you insight into how they raced well in all kinds of New York City conditions, as well as organizers from the race itself. Session 1: Summer Heat and Racing In NYC
Wednesday, June 19 | 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

Join our panel of experts from the New York City Triathlon and local coaches to talk about ice, water, electrolytes… repeat.  July in NYC is hot.  But your race does not need to be destroyed by the weather.  More than just nutrition, you can prepare your body on the best ways to handle a variety of weather conditions. From training, to pre- and during-race tips, we can help you prepare yourself so you can focus on the race and not the weather.

Session 2: Final Details 

Wednesday, July 10 | 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.

You are 11 days away from starting the 2019 New York City Triathlon.  You have heard the myths about the Hudson, the loose water bottles on the bike course and the hills in Central Park.  Join us to learn everything you need to know to succeed in the race, get tips on key workouts needed during the final few days and learn about the course experience from the head of water safety and the event director.

Indoor_Tri_4cIf you’ve ever wanted to try a tri, this is where to start. The 60-minute indoor workout will feature a 10-minute pool swim, 30-minute spin on a bike, 20-minute treadmill run and is the perfect way to kick-start your triathlon training. The indoor triathlon is based on time rather than distance — meaning you receive points for going further in a specific period of time, not going faster over a fixed distance. Participants are graded on a curve.

All Indoor Tri participants will receive:

Athletes of all abilities from beginner to experienced are invited. Indoor Tri events are open to both members and non-members of Life Time Fitness.
