Bike Shipping Details

As part of the Life Time Tri Championship event experience, we are proud to unveil bike shipping details — easily the most valuable incentive for those qualifying into the July 19, 2019 event in New York City.

The program will proudly be managed by TriBike Transport (TBT), the industry leader in safe, efficient and dependable transportation and logistics. Qualifiers across the country receive TBT’s fully assembled bike transport service to/from the TBT bike corral located near the transition area within New York City’s Riverside Park.

How It Works

The program couldn’t be simpler. Championship qualifiers will find the “New York City Triathlon” within the TriBike Transport Event Calendar, where they select from more than 65 local partner bike shops as their preferred drop-off location. The system will indicate an approximate drop-off date and retailer address for athletes to deliver their bike.

Qualifiers will receive a code redeemable for one complimentary Fully Assembled Transport service within TBT’s online reservation system. Athletes may opt-into additional services (transport Wheel or Gear bags) at their own expense.

On the requested drop-off date, athletes must drop their bikes (fully assembled) to the respective pick-up location. The bikes will be professionally loaded onboard TBT’s truck, then transported to the Transition Area within Riverside Park for pick-up beginning Friday afternoon of race weekend.

Following Sunday’s event, athletes can drop-off their bikes to TriBike Transport’s same Riverside Park location between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. TBT’s team will then transport the bikes to the point of origin, where athletes must reclaim their equipment. Approximate return dates will be announced as the event draws near.

Primary Bike Retail Partner Locations

The Registration Process

Question Answer
How do I register?

The top 5 winners in all International distance competitive divisions will earn entry into the Championship. Much like the Ironman World Championship process, once winners are announced at their respective Awards Ceremony, they may proceed directly to the Awards Tent to register (on-site) for the 2019 event.

Once the top 3 awards in a specific competitive division have been announced/presented, those placing 4th or 5th in that same division can proceed directly to the Awards Tent to register.

2019 Championship qualifiers who do not register on-site (at their respective Awards Ceremony) will be able to register online via private email link, distributed after the event.

Full payment will be required to confirm entry. All 2018 qualifiers must register by October 26, 2018 (excluding 2019 South Beach and CapTex).

Which divisions will qualify?

The following International distance divisions will qualify:

  • All Five Year Age Groups (19 & Under thru 80+)
  • Premier Amateurs
  • Clydesdales/Athenas
  • Para Tri (ambulatory, wheelchair, visually impaired)
  • First-Responders/Military
  • Collegiate

Relays and non competitive divisions are not eligible.

What is the entry fee? Entry for qualifiers into the 2019 Life Time Tri Championship event is $338, inclusive of insurance and online registration fees.
How do I earn free bike shipping? Complimentary bike shipping is available to the first 50 qualifying individuals to register within each market. This is on a first-come, first serve basis. These slots are expected to sell-out at each event’s respective Awards Ceremony.
How will bike shipping work? Approximately 7-14 days prior to the 2019 Championship event, our shipping partner will pick-up bikes from a dedicated, centralized bike shop within each Life Time Tri market (Miami, Austin, Minneapolis, Chicago and Tempe). Bikes will be delivered directly to NYC’s Riverside Park (Transition Area), assembled and available prior to the event. Following the event, bikes may be dropped-off at the same location for shipping back to their origin destination.
How do I earn a multi-region entry?

Those wishing to qualify for the 2019 Life Time Tri Championship event using the multi-race option are required to cross a finish line, placing in the top half of their age group, in at least two separate regions during the qualifying race season, which concludes at the 2019 Life Time Tri CapTex (full list above).

Qualifying participants are required to contact events@lifetimefitness.com to request guaranteed entry. The multi-region entry is limited to the first 100 applicants. Requests for the 2019 Championship event must be requested and processed by EOD October 26, 2018.

For those planning to qualify for multi-region entry utilizing either the South Beach and/or CapTex Triathlons, individuals must alert the Athlete Services team of their intent prior to October 26, 2018, or before the 100 applicant quota is reached, whichever happens first. Relevant slots will be placed on hold for those on track to qualify with their forthcoming results. Should these individuals qualify, they must register for the Championship event by June 3, 2019.

Will general entry into the 2019 Verizon New York City Triathlon still be available?

Yes. The 2019 Life Time Tri Championship event is a separate competition, set within the 2019 New York City Triathlon. Both competitions will be hosted on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in New York City.

The general registration process for the 2019 New York City Triathlon opened on November 1, 2018. The event is expect to sell-out quickly.

Am I eligible to qualify if racing the Chicago Triathlon Triple Challenge?

Yes. The top five Triple Challenge female and male finishers (using cumulative time across all three events) will qualify for the Championship.

Further, if Triple Challenge participants do not earn a top three placement, they may default to using their International distance net finish time toward a multi-region entry.
