To better accommodate and provide greater flexibility for our athletes, we have introduced this Bike/Run in-person event as an option for those who are not able to properly train for the swim due to COVID shutdowns and restrictions, or who simply wish to only complete the bike and run legs of the International distance event.
On July 11 2021, registered athletes will enjoy the convenience of completing only the Bike and Run portions of the race on the same course as fellow athletes competing in the Verizon New York City Triathlon.
Whether you are a seasoned triathlon veteran or brand new to the sport, anyone can participate! Athletes will complete the same Bike and Run course as the International Triathlon distance athletes. View Course Map.
Bike/Run – No Swim Option Distances to Complete:
25 Miles (40K) Bike | 6.2 Miles (10K) Run
Start Location: Transition – Riverside Park Soccer Fields at 101st St.
Bike/Run athletes will remain in Transition at the time of closing to all other athletes at 7:15 am in order to start their race.
Start Time: Approx. 8:00 am
Rolling wave start of 2-3 athletes every 10-15 seconds.

Athletes already registered for the 2021 Verizon New York City Triathlon may opt for the Bike/Run – No Swim Option by emailing us. Note: the difference in fees will not be refunded. All requests to switch MUST be received via email by June 20, 2021 (11:59 pm ET). Once the switch has been made, athletes will not be able to switch back.
No deferrals will be permitted as this is a one-time event offering for 2021.
