Organization Description: C/I's mission is to inspire and equip underserved students with the skills in computing, leadership and professionalism needed to thrive in the internet economy and beyond.
C/I's year-round programs introduce students from underserved communities to the creative power of technology through the teaching of hard and soft skills. By providing hands-on training in today's most relevant technology subject areas, C/I's programs serve as the building blocks for long-term career paths in technology.
Program Details and Team Benefits: A generous portion of our funding comes from participation in athletic events. Our triathletes commit to raising $3,000 per race entry on behalf of C/I programs. Team/Interactive has eight individual entries and two relay entries available for the 2016 NYC Tri.
C/I offers complete professional training guides and monthly webinars facilitated by professional triathlon Coach John Heuisler of BTL Fitness.
C/I also partners with the Central Park Track Club so NYC-based athletes can access weekly group runs in Manhattan.
All Team/Interactive triathletes are equipped with official New Balance race jerseys, invited to participate in a mock sprint triathlon (and BBQ) and supported in training through race day.
C/I development staff assists athletes through tried and true fundraising techniques including form letters, matching gift campaigns and events. Development staff is available to support fundraisers every step of the way.
