Tell us your tale of woe and you may win a free flight on JetBlue (see below). But you have to defer before June 15. You also get a guaranteed entry for 2009 if you enter before November 1, 2008 during early registration week. Plus we’ll send you your 2008 race goodies – t-shirt and goodie bag.
Your Tale of Woe – Win a round trip flight on JetBlue Airways
You got up in the middle of the night to enter. You trained in gross weather. You slipped around Central Park in February. You swam in one of New York’s famed 15 meter pools. Now you’re injured, pregnant, or getting married. You can’t race. You’re bummed. We’re bummed. Your fiancé is bummed you forgot you’re getting married--but that’s another story.
Tell us your tale of woe – why are you deferring? The winner will receive two round trip flights to any JetBlue city and three runners-up will each receive one round trip flight to any JetBlue city. But you have to defer AND send your sorry saga to John@Korffenterprises.com before June 15. You snooze, you lose. You defer, you may win. At least you’ll get cool stuff. And we won’t tell your fiancé.
2008 Deferral Process
You may defer your 2008 race entry for any reason until 11:59 pm, Friday, July 18, 2008. Deferrals are processed through Active.com. Once your deferral is confirmed through Active.com, you are automatically removed from the 2008 Triathlon.
Deferred athletes receive a guaranteed entry into the 2009 Nautica New York City Triathlon ONLY if you register during the Deferral Entry Week (Oct. 25 - Oct. 31). All deferred athletes will receive an email October 25, 2008 with pre-registration information.
***Deferred athletes must pay the 2009 early registration entry fee.
You WILL NOT receive a refund nor will your 2008 entry fee be transferred. There is no deferral fee. Please contact Hunter with any additional questions.
