Compete Beyond the Boardroom.

On August 7, 2011, 3,500 athletes will have the rare opportunity to move swiftly through the streets of Manhattan. No gridlock, no road rage, no fender-benders -- only the sounds of shoes on pavement, the whistling wind of the peloton and shouts of encouragement from the crowd. It’s an unforgettable experience that will be offered only to those competing in the Nautica New York City Triathlon.

If you’re a professional in the financial services industry who loves to compete both inside and outside the boardroom, you can fan that competitive flame by racing against your colleagues in the Janus Financial Executive Challenge.

What is the Janus Financial Executive Challenge?

As an investment management company intent on helping our clients reach their financial goals, Janus is no stranger to competition. In fact, our success – and that of our investors – depends entirely on gaining a competitive advantage. This same philosophy is the basis for the Janus Financial Executive Challenge, a race within a race intended to foster some friendly competition and camaraderie among those in the financial services industry who share our competitive spirit. The Janus Financial Executive Challenge gives financial professionals who are registered for the Nautica New York City Triathlon the opportunity to distinguish themselves among other triathletes in their industry or profession.

Who can participate in the Janus Financial Executive Challenge?

The Janus Financial Executive Challenge is open only to registered competitors in the Nautica New York City Triathlon whose firm’s primary business is financial services and who are also financial professionals (financial advisors, financial consultants, bankers, brokers, accountants, etc.) who want to race with or against their peers.

What are the perks?

The biggest reward will be the personal satisfaction that comes from completing this impressive feat. But if that’s not enough, all participants will also receive a Janus Financial Executive Challenge race singlet, race hat, in-depth training tips and an 18-week online training program by online coaching authority Multisports.com, and access to a special VIP tent at the Finish Line Festival for yourself and two guests.

In addition, Janus will present awards to each of the top male and female age-group “financial executive” finishers in the swim, bike and run categories, as well as for overall time, at the awards ceremony in Central Park.   The top female and male finisher will also receive a complementary entry into the 2011 Nautical New York City Triathlon.

How much does it cost?

It will cost you time away from the office (to train, of course) -- but no more. Registration for the Janus Financial Executive Challenge is absolutely free.

Registration for the 2011 Janus Financial Executive Challenge will take place in late 2010 and will be open to all registered 2011 NYC Triathlon participants.
