Competition Categories
Age Group
If you're not a professional, an elite amateur, or a physically challenged athlete, chances are this is the category you'll be racing in.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 24 & under, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, Women 50 & Over, Men 50-54, Men 55 & Over.
Age group awards are presented on site immediately after the conclusion of the age group race at approximately 12:00 pm. No unclaimed awards will be mailed.
Professional
Awards will be presented to the top five male and female finishers starting at 10:00 am.
Elite Age Group
To compete as an Elite Age Grouper, you must previously qualify at an Olympic Distance race with a time of 2:15 or less for men, and 2:30 or less for women.
Awards will be presented to the top five male and female finishers, immediately following the Pro awards ceremony.
Clydesdales & Athena's
Clydesdales (men over 200lbs) and Athena's (women over 150 lbs.) will include top three finishers 39 and under, and top three finishers 40 and over.
Relays
Relay team awards will include top three overall male relay, overall female relay, and overall co-ed relay teams.
Accenture PC National Championship
The top three in each of the six recognized categories will recive awards (presented prior to age group awards at noon).
Ivy Tri Championship
Overall award presented to the winning team. Awards presented as part of age group awards.
First Responders Triathlon Challenge
New in 2009! New York City's finest firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical personnel will compete against each other to determine first responder athletic supremacy!
Triathlon Club Championship
Scoring: Teams will be scored on a points system. Teams with 20 or more athletes will receive an automatic 5 points. Athletes who place 1st thru 6th in their age group will be awarded team points as follows:
1st = 5 points
2nd = 4 points
3rd = 3 points
4th = 2 points
5th = 1 point
