1. What is the Ivy Tri Championship?
The 2nd Ivy Tri Championship will be held as part of the NYCTRI Sunday, July 20, 2008. All current undergraduates, grad students, and alumni from each Ivy League school plus Northwestern, Duke, and Stanford are eligible to compete.
You don't have to be on a team - just race for your school!
2. Does it cost extra to enter?
No extra fee. Enter the Nautica NYC Triathlon, check Ivy League, enter your school name, and graduating year and you're in!
3. How does this work?
The Ivy Tri Championship is a race within a race. You can compete for your school and you are also eligible for awards in your age group, elite amateur, or pro division.
4. How many people can compete for each school?
As many as enter. This is an inclusive race. If you're a freshman and fast, or fifty and fat, it’s okay. We aren’t going to check dental records.
5. How does my school team win the Championship?
The lowest combined time from the top five finishers from each school count toward the Championship. The top five must include at least one man and one woman. The name of the winning school goes on the perpetual trophy that stays in New York. The winning school's top five finishers each receive a special award at the Finish Festival Awards Ceremony.
6. When do I enter?
If you are currently registered in the Nautica New York City Triathlon and attended or work at one of the eleven competing schools, contact Hunter@Korffenterprises.com and he’ll put you on your schools roster. If you went to an Ivy League school an you are NOT a registered NYCTRI athlete . . . too late. The Harvard team entered on time but we all like Northwestern’s polyester sweatshirts.
7. Can I wear a school jersey?
You bet! Look like a team. Get creative, have fun, paint your face – go Brownies!
8. What else do I need to know?
Nothing. Have fun, promote this to your friends and plan a party for your buddies in New York. Help us make this work. Once the Nautica New York City Triathlon closes registration, we will e-mail each entrant the names of their fellow ‘teammates’ – you may run into your long lost girlfriend or professor!
